Texas Tribe’s Service Partners

A volunteer-based, non-profit organization that sends free books and educational materials to Texas prisoners. Inside Books works to promote reading, literacy and education among incarcerated individuals and to educate the general public on issues of incarceration. Normal work days are Thursdays and Sundays from 8pm-11pm. Each dictionary donation = 30 minutes towards your hours (they are about $1 from Half-Price and Inside Books is in desperate need of some).

Orange Santa provides a resource for UT employees and students with special needs but it also serves as an opportunity for the larger university community to contribute to those needs and participate in a special season of caring. All donated toys or gifts should be new, in the original packing, and unwrapped. Wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbons and gift cards are needed to wrap and label gifts once shoppers have made their selections. We ask that no food items be contributed. Each donation = 1 hour (please have a volunteer coordinator sign your sheet). Read more about Orange Santa here.

Austin Pets Alive is in desperate need of some dog walkers. Dogs are taken out twice a day for walks and to help them do their business. If no one volunteers these dogs stay in their crates all day, aww sad. So if you have attended the training orientation stop by and walk a dog, even if you can only spare 15 minutes!
